Global
Positioning Environmental Radiological Surveyor
(GPERS)
In the early 1990s, Eberline Services developed its GPERS to address
the need for a system that would integrate radiological survey and
positioning data and present them in a format that is easy to read
and understand. GPERS is an ultra-light-weight, portable radiological
surveyor that uses global positioning system (GPS) technology integrated
with radiation detection instrumentation to measure, record, and
map radiological conditions for reporting and analysis. Radiation
and spatial data are automatically stored to file every second.
We are able
to provide post-survey data processing and reporting in accordance
with a client's specific needs. We can also provide clients with
field survey data in an appropriate electronic format to allow for
downloading in a client-specific GIS database. Eberline Services
has surveyed more than 5 million acres of radiologically contaminated
areas using the GPERS at DOE and DOD sites and in the Australian
outback.
